Seed Corn

Labor Day. The fields of seed corn around us are being harvested. That means semis full of the ears of seed corn have been driving past our place all day. They stir up clouds of thick, choking gravel dust. Not a good day to hang out wash, have the house windows open, or even to be outside.

Hummingbirds

Two hummingbirds have taken up residence here temporarily. They fight over access to the feeder and flowers. What energy!
